Throwback Thursday: Historical Romance Edition #13

Thank you to Shabby Blogs ( for the free frame!

Happy Thursday, everyone! And welcome to a new feature on Buried Under Romance and Love Saves the World.

What is Throwback Thursday?
Traditionally, Throwback Thursday celebrates nostalgia, asking participants to post a personal photo or an image from their past -- usually from 5 to 10 years ago. There are a lot of book blogs that also do a book-related Throwback Thursday.

The Historical Romance Edition:
Since Mary of Buried Under Romance and I are unapologetic lovers of historical romances, we've decided to focus on our beloved genre.

Here are our rules:
1. It must be posted on a Thursday.
2. It must be a historical romance novel published before October 3, 2008.

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope everyone is having a great holiday full of hugs, laughter and chocolate. For this week, I decided to find a book with a Christmas-theme. ^_^

An Affair Before Christmas by Eloisa James, published November 2007

Magic under the mistletoe ...

One spectacular Christmas, Lady Perdita Selby, known to her friends and family as Poppy, met the man she thought she would love forever. The devilishly attractive Duke of Fletcher was the perfect match for the innocent, breathtakingly beautiful young Englishwoman, and theirs was the most romantic wedding she had ever seen. Four years later, Poppy and the duke have become the toast of the ton ... but behind closed doors the spark of their love affair has burned out.

Unwilling to lose the woman he still lusts after, the duke is determined to win back his beguiling bride's delectable affections ... and surpass the heady days of first love with a truly sinful seduction.

This was the second book in Eloisa James's Desperate Duchesses series. And, you know what? It turns out I haven't read this book! I've read the other books in the series (and my favourite in the series is When the Duke Returns.) I do like the idea of stories that center on dukes and duchesses (and it was quite novel when this book was published in 2007) but there have been other series that also feature the duke theme.
