An Exclusive Interview with Ki Pha @ Doing Some Reading + Giveaway (Thank you, Authors! Thank you, Fellow Readers!)

I met Ki Pha through Mary @ Buried Under Romance and now the three of us host the weekly Throwback Thursday: Historical Romance Edition. What I love about Ki is that she is very generous with her time and her blog, sharing her space to promote old and new authors and books of different genre.

She's wonderful and fun to talk to online and she's also an amazing reviewer. I really enjoy reading her reviews (even of genres that I don't read), it is a very personal expression of her insights (and reads like she is having a conversation with you. ^_^)

I'm so glad to be able to feature Ki on my blog. ^_^

LStW: What inspired you to review books?
Ki Pha @ Doing Some Reading: What inspired me?? Well, I've been following book bloggers and reviewers for ever. Okay more like since 2006, when I accidentally picked up a Historical romance novel by Stephanie Laurens without thinking about what it was going to hold inside for my English class. So since forever right?

I have been officially "blogging" for almost three years but only have been a reviewer for almost two-ish years?? I don't know why I'm asking you about how long I've been reviewing but it just seemed correct. So, I was inspired by other bloggers and reviewers to start reviewing books.

Plus, I love reading and I needed to tell, or more like share my thoughts and spazz about a book I've recently finished to someone. My youngest sister is tired of listening to me spazz about books she is -- was -- too young to know about. So What else were I supposed to do? I have a blog, so why not use it to my own advantage. ^-^

LStW: (Halloween) If you could dress up as any character, real or fictional, who would it be?
Ki Pha: Well, Halloween is over but, if I were to dress up I would choose to be some Lady during the Victorian or Regency era. I have this nice vintage dress that could pass off as a night gown and a Regency dress folded somewhere. I could be a Ghost Lady in white or just a Regency lady, going to a masquerade. I do have a mask too.

Do I have to choose a character though? Okay, I really like Steampunk so, Cherry St. Croix from Tarnished by Karina Cooper would be a super fabulous character to dress up or cos-play as. (The cover of her latest Corroded would be used as inspiration for the costume).

LStW: (Thanksgiving) As a blogger/reviewer, what are three things that you are most thankful for?
Ki Pha: Well, I'm thankful for many things. I have a long list, probably as long as my to-read list and book pile on my drawer because my bookshelf is too stuffed.

As I posted for my November post when I participated in "28 Days to be Thankful giveaway"

I’m Thankful for my family, friends, bloggers, authors, readers, books, free time, sweets, swags, ARCs, freebies, and many other things I’m missing on that list.

I’m Thankful for having all the things I can have at this moment without even knowing it and of course greedy and selfish for.

And I know I’m really Thankful for having the time to read now days because life is too hectic and there isn’t enough time in a day to do everything we want too do!

Hmmmm I’m also Thankful for all the bad things I’ve done, thought, did, said, acted on because I’ve either learned from them, or are or will be learning from them.
Doesn't make sense but, how I think don't always make sense anyways. =)

LStW: (Christmas) Do you have a favorite thing to gift friends for Christmas?
Ki Pha: I always give out my favorite greedy candy of mines. If you receive this candy from me, it means you're a heck of a special person in my life. (sorry to those who don't receive them. I either don't have your address or I just don't have your address)

So yea, my ultimate favorite candy: Ferrero Rocher !!! If you don't love these, I don't know what to say. I can always send you Lindor's too. Or just a card. LOL.

LStW: (New Year) What's next for Doing Some Reading?
Ki Pha: So what's next? I don't know. I hope I'll still be here. If not reviewing then just blogging about random things like I use too or still do. LOL

Most definitely improving my way of reviewing is high on my list for the future and I do want to be more active, either in reviewing more or just participating in more tours and giveaways. Oh, and I do hope to start interviewing. Haven't touched that part of reviewing and blogging yet. Who knows right? I might just start with Love Saves the World and Buried Under Romance.
