Happy Thursday, everyone! And welcome to a new feature on Buried Under Romance and Love Saves the World.
What is Throwback Thursday?
Traditionally, Throwback Thursday celebrates nostalgia, asking participants to post a personal photo or an image from their past -- usually from 5 to 10 years ago. There are a lot of book blogs that also do a book-related Throwback Thursday.
The Historical Romance Edition:
Since Mary of Buried Under Romance and I are unapologetic lovers of historical romances, we've decided to focus on our beloved genre.
Here are our rules:
1. It must be posted on a Thursday.
2. It must be a historical romance novel published before October 3, 2008.
Amethyst (Chase Family Series Book 1) by Lauren Royal, published February 2000
Amethyst Goldsmith makes dazzling jewelry, but her future isn’t nearly as bright as the pieces she creates. Though custom dictates she wed her father’s apprentice, her heart rebels against the match. In mere days Amy will be condemned to a stifling, loveless marriage, and she sees no way out -- until the devastating fire of 1666 sweeps through London, and tragedy lands her in the arms of a dashing nobleman who knows a diamond in the rough when he sees it ...
Colin Chase, the Earl of Greystone, has his future all figured out. He’s restoring his crumbling castle and estate to its former glory, and the key to its completion is his rich bride-to-be. But the Great Fire lays waste to his plans, saddling him with trouble -- in the form of a lowly shopkeeper’s daughter with whom he’s most inconveniently falling in love ...
I have to say, I am a big, big fan of Lauren Royal and remember very fondly how I scoured the world (read: the Internet) to complete my paperback set of her three trilogies. Amethyst is her debut novel and it's currently free on Amazon. What's amazing about Lauren Royal is she is writing about the same family, but in different generations. I've mentioned before that I'm looking forward to reading a new book from Lauren Royal -- from her Q&A on Goodreads, she says she's working on something new. I'm looking forward to it. ^_^
