Throwback Thursday: Historical Romance Edition

Thank you to Shabby Blogs ( for the free frame!

Happy Thursday, everyone! And welcome to a new feature on Buried Under Romance and Love Saves the World.

What is Throwback Thursday?
Traditionally, Throwback Thursday celebrates nostalgia, asking participants to post a personal photo or an image from their past -- usually from 5 to 10 years ago. There are a lot of book blogs that also do a book-related Throwback Thursday.

The Historical Romance Edition:
Since Mary of Buried Under Romance and I are unapologetic lovers of historical romances, we've decided to focus on our beloved genre.

Here are our rules:
1. It must be posted on a Thursday.
2. It must be a historical romance novel published before October 3, 2008.

Seize the Fire by Laura Kinsale, published October 1989

Olympia St. Leger is a princess in desperate need of a knight in shining armor. Sheridan Drake, amused by Olympia's innocence and magnificent beauty, but also intrigued by her considerable wealth, accepts the position of white knight. Unaware that Sheridan is a notorious scoundrel, Olympia willingly allows herself to submit to his protection and his potent embrace. Theirs is a love born in deception. But as they weather storms on the high seas and flee from nefarious villains, the love sparked by lies begins to burn uncontrollably. Taking shelter on a desert island paradise, the princess and the dark knight battle overwhelming odds to keep their adoration burning bright.

Blurb taken from Goodreads.

My love for Laura Kindle started when I read Lessons in French when it was released. It became a slight obsession prowling used bookstores for copies of her other books, and I proceeded to binge-read a few more of her books. I haven't read her debut novel, but I plan to do so in 2015. If you look at the information page for this book, it's impressive how many times this has been republished.

  1. Wow, this sounds interesting.... yet it isn't actually what I would pick up myself but will be looking forward to your review of it in 2015. :)

  2. I've read some of Laura's books and liked them.
This one I haven't read, but I'm on the search now.
    Thanks Tin!
