Throwback Thursday: Historical Romance Edition #42

Thank you to Shabby Blogs (http://shabbyblogs.com/) for the free frame!

Happy Thursday, everyone! And welcome to a new feature on Buried Under Romance and Love Saves the World.

What is Throwback Thursday?
Traditionally, Throwback Thursday celebrates nostalgia, asking participants to post a personal photo or an image from their past -- usually from 5 to 10 years ago. There are a lot of book blogs that also do a book-related Throwback Thursday.

The Historical Romance Edition:
Since Mary of Buried Under Romance and I are unapologetic lovers of historical romances, we've decided to focus on our beloved genre.

Here are our rules:
1. It must be posted on a Thursday.
2. It must be a historical romance novel published before October 3, 2008.

Mistress of the Night of Charlotte Featherstone, published 2006

Blurb:
She walks in beauty like the night.
The Earl of Hardcastle is used to living his life shrouded in darkness, preferring to spend his days and nights in his gloomy townhouse than amongst the glittering ton in order to shield himself from a shameful secret he keeps carefully hidden. But his way of life is suddenly threatened when he finds himself longing for, and fantasizing about, Madeline Brydges, Society's resident do-gooder. Love will find a way where wolves fear to prey. Madeline Brydges needs to get married, and she has her sights set on the handsome and mysterious Earl of Hardcastle. But the elusive earl is proving most difficult where marriage is concerned. After years of saving those in need, Madeline is able to spot the signs, and she sees that inside Hardcastle lurks a painful secret. Madeline must risk all if she is to save the man she loves from his demons.
Rating: Contains graphic sex and explicit language.

So, there are two selfish reasons why I'm featuring Charlotte Featherstone today:
#1: I love her books and have read all of them, except this one! It looks to be her debut novel, and I hope she decides to reissue this in digital format.

#2: Would anyone have news of Charlotte Featherstone? My Google-fu isn't that strong for this one and I can't find her author's website. (Her personal Facebook page hasn't been updated in a while and her blog's last post was in January 2012 ... and I'm kinda sad that it says "Former Historial Romance Author for HQN and Spice Books." :-(

I'd love to know if she has a new book coming out. ^_^

  1. I'd not heard of her before! That's always sad when an author disappears like that. One of mine has done the same since 2012ish. :(

  2. Hi, Anna! Which author are you looking for?

Charlotte Featherstone's stories are a bit dark with lots of tortured heroes/heroines. I really hope someone has news of her ... all of her social media outlets haven't been updated. =(

  3. OMG!!! Charlotte Featherstone! I agree I haven't heard news of her for a long as heck time! Her Brethren Guardians series was my first find of her so I was surprise that she just fell off the radar. =( Hopefully she comes back soon~ But she does write under another name for I believe Paranormal. She just had a re-print of one of her paras last year, Yuletide Enchantment by Sophie Renwick so...... I don't know.

  4. This one has slipped my radar for some reason, need to find a copy and read it.
I first found Charlotte with her book ADDICTED, then I had to find her other books.
I read the Brethren Guardians series and I'm looking for more Charlotte, but no luck. :-(
Hopefully she's just busy writing some fabulous new book for all of us to read. *^_^*
I'm with you on the search for Charlotte, any news about her from anyone please let us know.

In answer to your question Tin I am finishing THE DEVIL'S TEMPTRESS by Laura Navarre.
I have Mary Balogh's book, THE ESCAPE, next on my night stand.
But, I was lucky to win DRAGON KNIGHT'S SWORD by Mary Morgan so that's going to be the next book for me.
I can't wait to start this one, it's Mary's first book. I've been following her updates and reading some excerpts from her new book.
    Thanks for another throwback Tin!

  5. The set-up sounds great and with the seemingly poles apart personalities, it would be great to see how these two will interact with each other. I feel for you about having an author suddenly 'disappear' like that. I hope you get some news about her soon.

    1. She's a great writer! I bit dark and intense, but she has a way of bringing catharsis at the end. ^_^
