Throwback Thursday: Historical Romance Edition #23

Thank you to Shabby Blogs (http://shabbyblogs.com/) for the free frame!

Happy Thursday, everyone! And welcome to a new feature on Buried Under Romance and Love Saves the World.

What is Throwback Thursday?
Traditionally, Throwback Thursday celebrates nostalgia, asking participants to post a personal photo or an image from their past -- usually from 5 to 10 years ago. There are a lot of book blogs that also do a book-related Throwback Thursday.

The Historical Romance Edition:
Since Mary of Buried Under Romance and I are unapologetic lovers of historical romances, we've decided to focus on our beloved genre.

Here are our rules:
1. It must be posted on a Thursday.
2. It must be a historical romance novel published before October 3, 2008.

Scandal's Daughter by Christine Wells, published September 2007

Blurb:

She could overcome her infamous past -- but not a present-day passion.

As a promise to her dying grandfather, self-proclaimed rake Sebastian Laidley has three months to marry off his childhood friend Gemma -- or marry her himself. But this daughter of a notorious seductress has inherited her mother's charms, and when she turns them on Sebastian, he'll long to be the only man who wins her heart.

I just read two books back-to-back by Christina Brooke (from her Westruthers sub-series) and enjoyed them very, very much. I followed the female Westruthers stories in the Ministry of Marriage series and loved them, and the current series is breathtaking. Before writing the Ministry of Marriage series, Christina Brooke wrote four romances under the name Christine Wells and this is her debut novel in 2007.

I have a feeling I will picking up these titles while I wait for Xavier, the Marquis of Steyne's story, which comes out in July. ^_^

  5. Hi, Renee! You can try out her Ministry of Marriage series. (Especially Mad About the Earl)

Hi, Ki and Jennifer! Yes! I think she stopped writing with this pseudonym a while back. I actually started reading her as Wells (1 of her books, I forgot which one) and then picked her up again when she did the Ministry of Marriage series.
