When a geeky girl hooks a haughty earl on Angry Birds, it's anything but a typical romance

An avid gamer, Jamie Marten loves to escape into online adventure. But when she falls through an antique mirror into a lavish bedchamber -- 200 years in the past!-she realizes she may have escaped a little too far.

Micah Axelby, Earl of Dunnington, has just kicked one mistress out of his bed and isn't looking to fill it with another -- least of all this sassy, nearly naked woman who claims to be from the future. Yet something about her is undeniably enticing ...

Jamie and Micah are worlds apart. He's a peer of the realm. She can barely make rent. He's horse-drawn. She's Wi-Fi. But in the game of love, these two will risk everything to win.

About the book:

What the duke wants ...

Is not three young ladies for wards.

Nor is the responsibility for finding them a governess.

Thankfully that is delegated to his housekeeper, who he might add is blind as a bat.

That really could be the only excuse she has for hiring Carlotta.

Because Carlotta is far too beautiful to be a governess.

Temptress, yes.

Unable to restrain himself -- because restraint is not one of his virtues, his reputation is testament of that fact -- he finds the young governess far more spirited, opinionated and tempting than he is able to resist.

And of course, because he’s an idiot. He falls in love.

Never questioning whether she’d be a willing participant.

Of course life isn’t that easy, not even when you’re a bloody duke.

And after one meddling Lady Southridge,

Leads to two fiascos,

Three wards decide to take matters into their own hands.

Because what the duke wants ... is simply to fall in love (preferably with the young woman in mind, falling in love too.)

Racing against time to foil those seeking to deceive Clarissa, Luc is horrified when she places herself in the path of danger. At last a woman has dented his impenetrable heart and he rides to her rescue. But has he left it too late to tell her how he feels?

About the book:
316 pages, 34 reviews (Average rating: 4.3 stars)

A woman courting ruin ...

No one would suspect prim, proper Prudence Etchingham of lusting after her best friend’s brother. Nor would anyone guess that she’s responsible for dozens of the best forgeries in London’s antiquities markets. But if her love for Alex is doomed to fail, she must raise enough money to escape the marriage mart. She just needs one last, daring forgery to set herself up for life ...

A man evading disaster ...

Alex Staunton, the rich Earl of Salford, lives a charmed existence. No one knows that he’s dangerously attracted to his sister’s best friend. Nor has he revealed that he suffers from an ancient curse -- one that has given him everything, but prevents him from marrying the woman of his dreams. But when an enemy from his past takes an unseemly interest in Prudence’s future, Alex must find a way to break the curse ... or risk losing her forever.

A love they’re destined for ...

Every seductive encounter brings them closer together -- but their secret, smoldering desires will inevitably burn them. And when Prudence’s illicit forgery collides with Alex’s desperate search, more than their hearts are at stake. Can they break Alex’s curse and save Prudence from her unwanted suitor? Or will their love become a weapon that will destroy them both?

  1. Sorry to hear you were under the weather a bit Tin.
Rest is nice for healing and feeling better, but with a six-year old, not to easy to do.
But we love them and we do the craziest things for our children. :-)
Have a nice time with the little party-people!

  3. I always need some good cheap reads every now and then. I am reading Magdala by Valerie Gross, magdalathebook.com. I never really thought I would be reading a book about Mary Magdalene and her relationship with Jesus as a love story, historical fiction to the max! Great read though. Now I need some good less serious reads some of these might be a great pick up for me.
