Throwback Thursday: Historical Romance Edition #38

Thank you to Shabby Blogs (http://shabbyblogs.com/) for the free frame!

Happy Thursday, everyone! And welcome to a new feature on Buried Under Romance and Love Saves the World.

What is Throwback Thursday?
Traditionally, Throwback Thursday celebrates nostalgia, asking participants to post a personal photo or an image from their past -- usually from 5 to 10 years ago. There are a lot of book blogs that also do a book-related Throwback Thursday.

The Historical Romance Edition:
Since Mary of Buried Under Romance and I are unapologetic lovers of historical romances, we've decided to focus on our beloved genre.

Here are our rules:
1. It must be posted on a Thursday.
2. It must be a historical romance novel published before October 3, 2008.

Once Upon a Wedding Night by Sophie Jordan, published July 2006

Blurb:

An Innocent Deception ...

Lady Meredith Brookshire has every right to Oak Run. Now that she's suddenly husbandless and penniless, where else would she, her addled father, and spinster aunt reside? Yet who should appear but Nicholas Caulfield, the new Brookshire heir, claiming the estate is rightfully his by law. The brute is as arrogant as he is handsome -- besides, he's supposed to be dead. And the only plan resourceful Meredith can devise to save her family from homelessness is a desperate scheme that may lead her to salvation or ruin ... and the bed of the man she has vowed to hate.

A reluctant aristocrat, Nick does not trust this fiery, infuriating chit whom he suspects of subterfuge-yet who bewitches him with her innocent green eyes. The sooner he can get this tempting beauty married off to some stodgy old blueblood -- and off his hands for good -- the better. There is one slight problem, however:

Nick can't bear the thought of her wedding any man but him.

This is Sophie Jordan's debut novel, but I actually read One Night With You first (and that was an interesting reading experience because my son has the same name as the hero). Sophie Jordan is an amazing writer, who writes historical romances and YA Fantasy and NA. I only read her HR novels, and have enjoyed them all.

She's about the release a new book this July, A Good Debutante's Guide to Ruin, the first in a new The Debutante Files series, and I'm looking forward to it. ^_^

  4. I remember this book, good one!
I'll have to make a list of her books to see which ones I have missed, which ones I have read and I definitely need to make a list of which ones I still have!
Organization is NOT my thing, I really need to try and get a system for all my books.

Renee B. ~ Your pick for Christina Dodd is a good one too! I read it and I need to reread it as soon as I get some of my TBR pile down some. I'm not complaining because I do so enjoy my books!

Have a nice day ladies! :-D
